PROJECT WISE DETAILS

1. Project : Design of LAN/WAN, Enterprise wide Messaging and
Workflow System
Employer : IBM Global Services India P Ltd.
Client : Income Tax Department Of India.
Location : New Delhi.
Duration : December'96 -August '98 (21 Months)
Role : Project Leader

Description

Design and implementation of 600 node network with remote links at 6 sites in New Delhi. Carried out the requirement study for movement from DOS/ Novell Netware to Windows NT and Windows 95. The remote sites communicate over 64Kbps terrestrial links. The Domain design provided adequate security and the workflow. The company wide Windows NT and Novell Netware network has online integration with IBM RS/6000 machines which run the mission critical applications and Oracle database of the entire country's income tax payers.

Responsibility

As a Project Leader , I am responsible for designing the technical architecture for the network and messaging system with all aspects like cabling, workgroup computing, mail postoffices and connectivity to the Internet, RS/ 6000, Novell Netware and planning for fault tolerance, backup, network management, and monitoring the WAN link between three metro cities. Also implementing the dialup connectivity between the remote location to acess the central database in RS /6000 at New Delhi. Managing the project by guiding the project team comprising personnel from the company and a solution provider. Carrying out skill transfer sessions to team members and end users.

2. Project : Implementation of Lotus Notes

Description

Design review of Lotus Notes server installation for the IBM business partners and implementation of server for replication of IBM technical and marketing info.

Responsibility
As a Project Co-ordinator I was responsible for designing the technical architecture for the Lotus Notes network using dialup connectivity between the business partners and IBM office and maintaining the log of the events of replication & updating the database.

3. Project : Implementation of OS/2 Warp network

Description

Design review of OS/2 Warp server installation for the IBM's most prestigious client in India, having the IBM Main Frames, implemented for the India Aviation Giant. The OS/2 Warp clients located across the country access the central database using artic cards for communication.

Responsibility

I am looking after the IBM OS/2 WARP SERVER Rel. 3 based systems, which is implemented h Token Ring Network adapters, artic adapters etc, which are going to be functional on all the sites of Indian Airlines in India for the systems network established at each locational, & will access the mainframes for operations using IBM Communications Manager / 2.

4. Project : Design and deployment of Windows NT network
Employer : IBM Global Services India P Ltd.
Client : American Express -FRC East.
Location : New Delhi.

Description

Design review of 450 nodes on Lan for the client.Key areas of design and deployment were integration of a Windows NT network with Novell Netware. Connectivity was also done with Windows 95 as client. The company wide network has Windows NT, Novell Netware, OS/2 Warp, Integration with Lotus Notes for messaging.

Responsibility

As a Project Engineer I was responsible for designing the technical architecture for the network and co-ordinating with the site engineer for implementation and trouble shooting as it was a critical site having around seven servers and a AS/400 running in production round the clock. Responsible for framing the functional specifications and assisted the site engineer in time of crisis.

5. Project : Design and deployment of Novell Netware network

Description

Design review of 250 nodes on Lan for the client. Key areas of design and deployment were implementation of Novell Netware network in integration with Sco Unix. Connectivity was also done with Windows 95 as client. The company wide network has , Novell Netware, Sco Unix, Banyan Vines, and Ccmail for messaging.

Responsibility
As a Site Engineer I was responsible for designing the technical architecture for the network and implementation and trouble shooting of networking and hardware related problems as it had two Novell servers and two Unix servers where the Indian corporate operation of the company and there software development takes place. .Responsible for framing the functional specifications and assisted the end users in time of crisis.
